Adding Content

Content can be added to your pages in many different ways. The easiest way is to place pre-made parts or modules onto the page. You can customize and edit these parts to add content. You can place multiple parts on the page and arrange them as you wish.

To add a part to your page, first we must switch to 'Edit Mode'. Once in edit mode we can change any settings to the page. Click on the Edit link in the upper right hand corner (you must be logged in).


Once in edit mode you'll see new links available at the top of the page. Click on 'Add'.



You'll see a new window slide down called the Part Library. This lists the available parts that came with your version of TextSide. (You can download more of these parts or easily build your own too). For now, select the HTML part by clicking on its name. After the part appears in the background, close the part library by clicking on its X.



You're new part has been added to the page. You'll notice that you can drag and drop by this part by selecting its handle.



Once you've found a place for the part, lets go ahead and edit it to add some custom HTML. Click on the parts Edit link from its toolbar.



You'll be shown an edit screen for the part. Each part provides its own edit screen where you can add your content. For the HTML part we can add our own HTML, preview it, or easily upload images. Once done, click save, then back.



Back on the Edit Page screen you can see the new content that we added. Before we leave edit mode though, lets go ahead and add a title and border to our part. Click on the "Options" link on the parts toolbar.



Here you can set a title and a customized border for your part. As you make changes the content of the part will show them immediately. Note that the borders available for your parts will depend on your current site them.



Once done, go ahead and click on the "Stop Edit" link in the top right corner. This will bring us back to the regular page.



And your site now had content!



Please Note - Adding parts is by far the easiest and quickest way to add new content to your site. However, it is not the only way. The TextSide engine also makes it very easy for you to add custom PHP code to your pages or create or own stand alone PHP pages.
